Signing Ceremony of “Conservation and Restoration Initiatives in the Sundarbans Region (CRIS)” Project

A signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was held on 17 November 2025 among the Bangladesh Forest Department, IUCN Bangladesh, and Agence Française de Développement (AFD), Bangladesh, for the implementation of the ‘Conservation and Restoration Initiatives in the Sundarbans Region (CRIS) Project’. The event took place at the ROKTON meeting room, Bana Bhaban, Agargaon, Dhaka. Mr. Md. Amir Hosain Chowdhury, Chief Conservator of Forests, Bangladesh Forest Department; Ms. Cecilia Cortese, Deputy Director, Agence Française de Développement (AFD); and Ms. Bipasha Hossain, Country Representative, IUCN Bangladesh, signed the MoU.

Senior officials from the Bangladesh Forest Department, along with representatives from AFD and IUCN, were present at the ceremony. The project will be implemented in the Sundarbans region of Bangladesh.
